visible mending/Reconciliation

I created this series for the Truth and Reconciliation exhibition at the Art Gallery of Bancroft. By cutting apart and then stitching my landscapes back together visibly, and slightly askew, I’m acknowledging that repairs cannot erase history’s shame, but instead could be part of creating something new. There is hope in mending.

25% of the proceeds from these paintings will be donated to Water First, a group that uses education and collaboration to address water issues in Indigenous communities in Canada.
